L-R: Fallen Angel Quad, Love Liberty Matte Revolution Lipstick, Filmstar Bronze & Glow
Front: Pillow Talk Lip Cheat
After some serious bouts of lust and envy, I discovered that Charlotte Tibury is available to Australians via Net-A-Porter with next day shipping. Yes please! Now the difficulty was deciding what to get, if I had the funds the entire Matte Revoluton range would have made its way to me but I’ve been trying to exercise some shopping control.
Fallen Angel Eyeshadow quad is just simply devine, almost too pretty to use. Almost. The four shades flatter each other perfectly (something I specifically look for in any duo/quad/palette) and are buttery smooth. I can see this becomming my go-to evening eye look and I’ll be very sad when the embossed stars fade away.
Love Liberty was my pick of the Matte Revolution Lipstick range. We’re going into Autumn & Winter here in Australia so a good burgandy-red was on my mind. I often struggle with matte formulas, but these have a creamy texture that doesn’t make my lips uncomfortable or overly dry.
The star of the show is Filmstar Bronze & Glow. This has popped up all over the blogosphere in the last 6 or so months claiming to be the best sculpt & highlight duo on the market. I wont lie – my heart skipped a beat when it was finally in my hands. The sculpt shade is warmer than the grey/taupe sculpting powders currently trending which for me is great. I tried and wanted to love the Kevin Aucoin Sculpting Powder in Medium but I just couldn’t. I find anything too grey doesn’t blend well into my very pale face with faded freckles, instead leaving me to look a bit dirty – a look I’m sure won’t be hitting NY Fashion Week any time soon. The highlight is a toned-down Mary Lou-Manizer from The Balm, which don’t get me wrong is stunning, but can’t always be pulled off in the office.
Pillow Talk Lip Cheat Pencil is one of those products I can see myself using up over and over again. The muted rose colour provides a true my-lips-but-better effect while achieving a plumper apperance.
I’ve definitely set myself up for some danger, already planning my next purchases. A cream made of magic? I’ll take 5.
