I had a really rubbish week. Then I went shopping and I felt much better.
From Mecca: Glam Glow mud mask, Stila In The Light palette, Hourglass Ambient Light Powder in Dim Light and Hourglass Arch Brow in Dark Brunette.
From MAC: Lightscapade MSF & Relentlessly Red Lipstick
From Lush: Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner & Santa Lip Scrub (smells like cola, yum!) plus a sample of their 9 to 5 cleanser
From strawberry net: Ren Bio Retinoid moisturiser, TZone balancing moisturiser and Hydracalm moisturiser.
Lastly, from Adorebeauty: Becca mineral sunscreen.
After spending some time on Zoe Foster-Blake’s blog reading about her thoughts on chemical vs physical sunscreens (read here) I’ve decided to make the move myself and really start to be more diligent in sun protection using only physical sunscreens as well as trying to help my existing hyper pigmentation from the sun. I’ve been on a Skincare kick lately (if that wasn’t already obvious), I’m on the hunt for holy grail products so I can lock down a routine that I love and stick with it. I’m also trying to stay away from harsh chemicals in Skincare, so Ren has been appealing to me.
I had preplanned my trip to Mecca, which is always the safest way to go because before you know it you’ve spend 100′s of dollars. I’ve only tried the Glam Glow mask so far and it’s AMAZING. So impressed with the results I saw after one use. I don’t think I’ll continue to use it all over my face, just where I need it (nose & chin) which should help my $75 spend last much longer!
The MAC Retro Matte collection (permanent I believe?) has really caught my eye. It took a lot of will power not to buy every shade they had, I settled for Relentlessly Red as I thought it was the most unique to my current lipstick collection. As I was heading to the counter I remembered I wanted to have a look at Soft & Gentle MSF, I didn’t realise how peachy and glittery it was – definitely not for me. I was just about to walk away until something else caught my eye – a lighter, finer MSF. Lightscapade. I’m not sure if this is still hanging around from a recent collection or if it was made permanent, but I refused to take the risk. It was love at first swatch. Everything I look for in a highlighter for my porcelain skin.
The rest I am yet to try but I’m very hopeful for their results. Have you tried any of these, or looking to yourself? Let me know in the comments if you’d like a review on anything.
On another note – the last few months I’ve felt uninspired in regards to blogging. It seemed so many girls were doing it and I struggled to see my place in the pie. Tonight I think – fuck that. I like shopping and I like sharing. Cheers to those who do too.
